New Live CD is Now Available

The new live CD featuring Joe Young is now available. This CD was recorded on October 16 and November 6, 2009 at Bittercreek Alehouse in Boise, ID.

Thanks to Joe Young for the beautiful saxophone and tin whistle. It really adds a lot to the songs.

Thanks also to Dave Krick, Thomas Paul and everyone at Bittercreek. Eat Local!

Live Recording at Bittercreek

I will be playing live at Bittercreek Alehouse October 13 & November 6. Both of those performances will be recorded and compiled into a live CD.

My belief is that my live performances should be as good as anything I can put on a CD, so I put a lot of effort into making each show as good as any CD I'd produce. That's why it makes sense to do the live album.

Please come out for one of the shows. It will be great to have you included on the album!

Chad & Band live this Tuesday

Hi everyone,

This Tuesday I'll be playing with the whole band down at Bad Irish from 7:30 to 9:00. Following the show at 9:00 the stage opens up for Open Mic so bring your instrument and play some tunes or jam with other musicians. It's always a fun time and somebody always gets their tab picked up. :)

Boise Curb Cup - Boise Young Professionals Award

Today was a fantastic day in downtown Boise at the first annual Boise Curb Cup! there were 130+ performers and 1000's of attendees. Thanks to all that came downtown to support local arts and to all the entertainers that put on such a great show!

Green Expo - Saturday July 18

Idaho Botanical Gardens

It was a beautiful day to play live at the Idaho Botanical Gardens. Joe and I played for the Family Day at the gardens and had a great time. Vashti also joined and led a 30 minute session with the kids and parents, which I thought was the highlight.

Bad Irish Rocks! What a great place to play live!

Last week, Joe Young and I played for a great crowd on the brand new stage at Bad Irish. We did a set of traditional tunes and then switched gears into the pop stuff with songs from Michael Jackson, Cold Play, U2 and Paul Simon. Fun Stuff!

We had a great time at Bittercreek last night! It was a great crowd and they stayed a good long time. Joe Young joined on saxophone and penny whistle and Michael Spangler was there on guitar, keys and vocals. It was a great combination. We should do that again, soon.

Piper Pub & Grill - Saturday, Jan 31

I played my first live show at the Piper Pub & Grill on Saturday from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. It was a light crowd, but a good one. :) It's great to have folks out there singing along and dancing to the rockin' tunes.

I'm looking forward to playing there again, maybe some time in March or April.

Bittercreek Ale House - Friday, Jan 23

I played at Bittercreek Ale House last night and had a great time. We playied from 10 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., which was a bit later than I'm used to. We had a really nice crowd for the first two sets. They actually listened, sang along and even noticed when a song ended! Amazing. :)

I was joined by Joe Young (penny whistle and sax) and Michael Spangler (guitar and vocals). It was our first time playing together as a trio and it went really well. I think it almost looked like we'd practiced.

O'Michael's Pub - Team Ireland Fundraiser

What a fun place to play! O'Michael's Pub was packed and it was a great crowd to play for. Joe Young joined in the fun playing Penny Whistle and Saxaphone. It's always great to play live with Joe. Will Martin also sat in for a few tunes like "This Land is Your Land" and "Grandfather's Clock." It's so fun to have live guests and just go for it without practicing the tune.

The Irish Tiernen Dancers performed mid way through the evening. They put on a great show and are a lot of fun to watch.

We did a lot of new tunes that night - lot's a great Irish tunes and some pop standards. The crowd would have liked more rebel songs, but I only had a few on hand (Sean South and Roddy McCorley). Guess I need to work up a few more of those.
